Our vision
To build a strong Nordic community that connects teaching, research, and students to co-develop relevant agroecology pathways, increase visibility, and encourage collective resilience in the face of shared food system challenges.

Our Missions
The Nordic Agroecology Education and Research Network aims to promote sustainable farming practices and educate future agroecologists. This vision is supported by three core objectives focused on developing and strengthening education, research, and career pathways for students:

Mission 1: Tap into shared Nordic challenges to develop context-appropriate applications of agroecology principles and develop our own Nordic Agroecology pathway.

Mission 2: Break down institutional and national silos to build a community, encourage peer support, and collective strength among future practitioners and researchers.

Mission 3: Increase visibility and accessibility of agroecology teaching.
Our initiatives across four areas
Education

We promote high-quality, context-specific agroecology education through joint lectures, summer schools, and guest lectures and promote student mobility and exchanges.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement
Research

We connect students, alumni, educators, and key stakeholders, foster mentorship, internships, and practical collaboration with NGOs, farmers’ organizations, and private sectors
We link researchers across institutions and disciplines to break silos, strengthen research capacity, accelerate innovation, and generate actionable knowledge for resilient food systems.
Policy Practice and Impacts

We support the uptake of agroecological approaches in policy, land-use decisions, and food system management, ensure that solutions are locally relevant and resilient.
Our Members and contact persons
Composed of dedicated researchers and education professionals from across the Nordic region, our core team serves as the driving force for translating agroecological knowledge into practical, local solutions.
