Student and Education Initiatives

  • Facilitate student exchanges between Nordic universities (2026 - 2028).

  • Organize joint guest lectures with invited speakers across institutions (online or in-person) (2026 -  2028).

  • Create a Nordic agroecology student and alumni network to support peer learning, mentoring, and career guidance (Spring 2027).

  • Develop joint PhD course /summer school to promote interdisciplinary and Nordic-focused learning (Spring 2027).

  • Organize annual career days where we invite alumni, industries etc in conjunction with the Agroecology Day (organised ever year in May at SLU, Alnarp) to engage students and teachers/researchers (Spring 2026 and 2028).

  • Host hackathons on agroecology challenges, open to all network students (Spring 2027).

Research and Collaboration Activities

  • Facilitate joint research projects that address Nordic agroecology challenges, and a workshop on interdisciplinary research methods and development of a Nordic definition for agroecology research (Spring 2027).

  • Hold an annual in-person researcher and teacher meetings to discuss teaching, share methods, and plan research proposals (Spring 2027 and early 2028).

  • Organize a Nordic Agroecology Symposium in the end of 2027, to be continued on a biennial basis (every 2 years), that showcases research and education outcomes.

  • Organize a multi-stakeholder workshop on challenges and opportunities for agroecology in the Nordics (end of 2027).
